HODGMAN DECLARES CANADA "PERFECT"
Hodgman seems to be in Canada and is saying NICE THINGS about this mysterious giant, the "Brooklyn of the Americas." While I can't agree with his assessment, there are some pretty & good things about our northerly neighbor. I was up there last August working on stories and had a great time. Above, hiking at altitude in the beautiful Adamants mountain range, British Columbia. Canadian Mountain Holidays runs these heli-hiking trips. They are the best. This is a good way to be healthy, ride on helicopters and eat cookies.
I also wrote about the restaurant scene in Quebec City, which is celebrating its 400th year and has much to recommend it. I didn't get to mention the greasy 2am poutine. I will mention it now: It is fucking good.

Omg this does look fucking good! I am so hungry right now, lol. I gotta be careful, I almost consumed the monitor.
Regular poutine is good, but I must admit that a poutine western from the poutine stand in Whistler (minus the gravy and add chili) is just the BEST.
SO heart-stoppingly delicious. It's reason enough to make the trek to Quebec.
What exactly is Poutine? Whatever this cardiofood is, it looks sinfully delicious. I'd probably lick the pan eating it. Yum!

Oh my! You went to THE place for poutine in Quebec City, I can see that from the tray. And yes, it is lip-linkingly delicious, even though it's bad for you... Good thing it cannot be found out of Canada. We Europeans have chips and mayonaise in Belgium, chips with everything in the UK... Oh, to those wondering what the hell poutine is, it's chips [fries in North American speak] with grainy cheese [like some very lumpy cottage cheese] and gravy.
The fries look disgusting, however, that view of the mountain is amazing
Oh my God!!! I miss poutine so much!! I remember my first night in Montreal (I was there visiting a friend) and I was starving. It was like 2 a.m. and there was a 24-hour place called Alto's right next to my building.. and I had my first poutine at 2 o clock in the morning.... it took me hours to digest it and be able to sleep but it was sooo yummyyyyyy!!!
I've heard about the poutines! Looks pretty good!
